Butter or Margarine

An interesting lesson i have learnt in Food Technology lecture today.

Butter or margarine? Which one you'll choose? I think most people used to choose margarine because it's more healthy. Don't you? Hmmm.... Is WRONG! Is it actually for you to choose which way you wish to die. Die fast? Or die slow?

Butter vs Margarine  =   Die slower vs Die faster

Polyunsaturated fats in butter caused cancer. Margarine also contains trans fatty acid lead to stroke and heart disease. Cancer = Die slower. Stroke / heart disease = die faster.

The ending for either choice is still the same. So now, your choice. Butter or margarine? xD

Don't Give Up in You Life!

PLEASE READ THE STORY BEFORE YOU WATCH THE VIDEO.

It is a real story happened in real life. In a Chinese modern dance competition on TV, one very unique couple won the top prizes. The lady, in her 30's, was a dancer who had trained since she was a little girl. Later in life, she lost her entire left arm in an accident and fell into a state of depression for a few years.
Someone then asked her to coach a children's dancing group. From that point on, she realized that she could not forget dancing. She still loved to dance and wanted to dance again. So, she started to do some of her old routines, but having lost her arm, she had also lost her balance. it took a while before she could even make simple turns without falling.
Then she heard a man in his 20s who has lost a leg in an accident. He also fallen into the usial denial, depression and anger type of emotional roller coaster. But she determined to find him and persuade him to dance with her. He had never danced and to "dance with one leg... are you joking? No way!" But she didn't give up and he reluctantly agreed thinking, "I have nothing to do anyway." She started to teach him dancing 101.
Both of them broke up a few times because he had no concept of using muscle, how to control his body and knew none of the basic things about dancing. When she became frustrated and lost patient with him, he would walk out. Eventually, they came back together and started training seriously.
They hired a choreographer to design routines for them. In the competition, you'll see how they dance and won the competition. It's really amazing. They are the excellent example for all of us. They proved that they can make it even they have disability on their body. What to say for us who are born perfectly without any disability.

Such a touching video isn't it? I have watched it for few times and it never fails to make me cry every single time when I watch it.

After the story and the video, the main point to tell is still APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE, DON'T GIVE UP IN YOUR LIFE!

mini Lobster, DON'T EAT, Can Die!

Please alert of this food item...

It may infect your lung.

Do not eat these mini lobster.

These mini crustaceans are literally the grabage cleaners in thesewage treatment plant.

The "dirtie" the water, the fatter these mini lobsters become. Their lungs are full of worms and their flesh saturated with poisomous metals.

Unscrupulous merchants somehow found a way to get these marketed to eateries.

Do not order this dish.Pass this to those friends who may want to try these mini lobsters.

8th day of CNY

Come to the 8th day of CNY. It's a busy day for Hokkien people as tonight is the celebration of "Tian Gong Dan" (the birthday of the God of Emperor). For Hokkien people, the 9th day of CNY is the most important day among 15 days of CNY. We will pray for the God of Emperor at 12am sharp during the night. It will be the peak time of the day. Sound of firework is all around. Penang can be said as the most crowded place for this occassion espacially at Chew Jetty. Video below showed the celebration of this occassion.

Daily Routine Useful Tips

Just saw a great idea from facebook. Let's share with all. :)

Seal Plastic Bags with Old Bottle Caps

What a great idea... No more twist ties or rubber bands.

This method is water proof & air tight. GREAT!

The bag is made to be air-tight, such that water will not leak, the secret lies with the top and the screw cap!.

This is such a great idea to share. It is totally fulfill the idea of CM Penang who emphasizes on Go Green. Besides, this is good for us and the environment too.

CNY Reunion & Gathering

Time flies, CNY holidays is going to end soon. Tomorrow is the day to go back to Cheras and continue the study life. One week of CNY holidays did really means a lot to me. Normal days everyone is busy with our daily routine and work, while friends are busying with their study in different places. Hence, it is very hard to gather all of us for a friends or family reunion. CNY is the only chance among the whole year for the whole family reunion and also friends gathering. I did enjoys a lot during this CNY week.

2nd day of CNY: Family Reunion
Lion Dance performance at aunty's house

Family reunion with BBQ dinner

5th day of CNY: Friends Gathering
Morning at Penang Hill

Foods in afternoon: Asam laksa, koay teow soup, mee rebus, rojak, sugar cane juice... yummy~ yummy~ xp

Happy 2012 dragon year! Have a prosperous one! :)

11 Life Lessons to Learn

Year of rabbit was a past, it's already the 6th day of dragon year. Everyone of us are getting older. As what idiom said, "One year older, one year wiser" and I'm going to share some tips on how to be a wiser one. :)

1. Always out God first
"When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place" -- Pres Ezra Taft Benson (May, 1988)

2. Life is too short
"This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don't like something, change it. If you don't like your job, quit. If you don't have enough time, stop watching tv. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop ever analyzing, all emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. LIFE IS SIMPLE. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. So go out and start creating. Life is live your dream, and wear short. Your Passion." -- The Holstee Manifesto, 2009

3. Live in the moment you are in
"If you are always racing to the next moment, what happens to the one you're in?
Enjoy the Ride."

4. Best things in life are never things
"The best things in life aren't things."

5. You MUST learn to step outside of your comfort zone
"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone" -- Neale Donald Walsch

6. Be grateful... for everything
"Thank you God fro blessing me much more than I deserve."

7.Forgive... otherwise you are only hurting yourself
"Forgiveness is not something we do for other people. We do it for ourselves to get well and move on."

8. Laugh... every day
"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter."

9. Always believe in yourself
"Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think."

10. Love like there is no tomorrow
"Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy; it does not boast. It's not self-seeking; it's not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. LOVE NEVER FAILS. -- 1st corinthians 13: 4 - 8

11. Have faith and trust our God
"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. -- hebrew 11:1"

Be Careful of a THIEF with NEW Toyota Vios (Kota Kinabalu, Sabah)

Are you a Sabahan? If so, please beware of this new Toyota Vios car. If not, you should still be aware of it. The house owner in the video was very luck but you will never know that you might be the next victim. This reflected how seriously is the social corruption in the society today.

Penang oh Penang~~~

My home, Penang is famous as "The Pearl of the Oriental". No doubt, it is a heavenly place for food. A lot of cheap and mouth watering local cuisine you can find around this small island. Here's some guides on where to go for your local and the yummy delights around this small island. All the foods below are the MUST to try in Penang.

1) CHAR KOAY TEOW - The koay teow is stir fried with dark soy sauce, chilli, belacan, prawns cockles, beansprout and chopped chinese chives. You can search the best one for yourself in Sin Hwa Coffeeshop located in Pulau Tikus which is just opposite the police station.
Address: Kedai Kopi Sin Hwa, Jalan Burma (Opposite Pulau Tikus Police Station)

2) ASAM LAKSA - Asam laksa consists of white noodles served with mackerel in a sour soup. Besides, it is served with pineapple, thin sliced onions, and thick prawn paste. You can get yourself the best on at Balik Pulau. Other than Asam Laksa, they have also served Thai Style Laksa as well.

You may think that pictures always speak louder than words. If so, let's come and have a try. Besides these few which I recommended, there is still a lot nice food around Penang such as White Curry Mee, Satay, Indian Mee Rebus, Wantan Mee, Yam Cake, "Chai Kuey", "Mua Chee", Banana & Raisin Pancake at Beach Street... A lot and a lot more.
